What a way to start a season! We woke up to 51 cm's on the front lawn of Snowball Chalet bringing the total snow fall this season up to a gazillion cm's.
It snowed all day and we finished with a total for the storm of 65 cm's back at Snowball which I measured after riding at Tangram.
Early season riding is the best! Aside from the Snowball Japan staff (22 of them), there were a handful (literally 10 other people) on the whole mountain and it was perfect, cold, dry, bottomless powder for days!
They opened lift number 5 for tourists only and promptly decided to let us ride so we had excellent terrain and no people. Lost count of face shots and powder turns.
Special shout out to Maxence from Snowball for his determination and grit despite a waaaaayyyyyyy too small snowboard and more powder than you could poke a stick at - I lost my stick. I dropped it and it disappeared into the fluffy powder goodness.
Today's pic is Tangram from the road to Madarao. I can count 5 people in the shot.
